I usually love her books but this one not only disappointed, but made me want to pull my hair out.Jan has to be the most immature and self centered person ever. Not only does she constantly whine about what she wants, but she does it while professing that she wants both men to see her as an adult. Well then act like one! Despite repeated attempts from others she fails to consider that what she wants might destroy the family she claims to love.
I'm glad the author chose to give the three of them and HEA, but rationally would that really happen...doubtful
Finally, I feel I have to bring up the issue of rape. In what world is it ok to handcuff someone, and then proceed to have intercourse with them because you "love" them. Just because it's the male being handcuffed, and he did physically enjoy it does not mean it's not rape. He said "NO". That means no. Yes, men can be raped.
Sorry but that one scene completely ruined what might have been an ok story.

I usually really like Maya Banks books (Breathless Trilogy). The premise interests me. Is it possible to be in a committed polyamorous relationship? Jasmine has been in love with the 2 brothers since she was 16. She returns at 22 and wants a relationship between the 3 of them. Jasmine is very immature, and the book was really repetitive, even the sex. It's a New Adult book but the characters and the dialogue was more aligned with the Young Adult genre. Quick read.
Jaz knows exactly what she wants and needs from the two most precious men in her life. But it's not as simple as just knowing or even just asking for what you want. The three of them have a history together. One so tenuous and fragile that trying to change it to fit the new grownup image Jaz wants might be like trying to remold a glass vase without the required heat. So what then do you do?
The author, Maya Banks, lights a fire of course. But this isn't an instant perfect temperature. It takes time. While waiting I laughed, I cried, I jumped for joy, I cried harder, and then I cried the hardest in happiness when it all finally came together.
The author doesn't just place a happily ever after bow on the solution though...she keeps it real, and acknowledges that love is never easy. You have to want it and do all you can to keep it working. After all love isn't worth it, unless it's worth fighting for.
I just have one question for Maya, will J.T. ever get his handcuffs back?
A menage story of one woman who loves two men, the story lacks emotional connection between the characters.
THE STORY Jasmine Quinn was taken into the home of Seth and Zane Morgan when she was a sixteen year old runaway who propositioned Seth in a bar in order to satisfy the pimp that was forcing her to sell herself. Seth and Zane were horrified and hustled Jasmine into their home and built a family around her. When Jasmine realized that she was in love with both brothers, she went to France for a year to try and build her own life. There she had a friend who was in a poly amorous relationship and she began to believe that she Seth and Zane could have a similar relationship. She returns to the ranch and tries to convince both brothers that she wants and loves them both. Seth especially has problems with the idea of such a relationship but Jasmine is determined to convince him.
OPINION I thought the idea of the story was interesting, but I didn't feel any connection with the characters in this story. Jasmine was immature, and Seth and Zane remained emotional mysteries. The relationship between Jasmine and Zane seemed more sibling like that lover like. Jasmine's relationship with Seth seemed more complex, but the resolution of their conflict came too abruptly. I think Banks has done similar stories in a better manner.
WORTH MENTIONING I thought the story was unique in that it was the woman who had to do the convincing to enter into the menage relationship.
FINAL DECISION This was one of those books that was okay but not earth shattering. I understood the conflict between the characters, but I just didn't get an emotional connection between the characters. Their relationship seemed more sibling like than lovers and I didn't buy the abrupt turnaround in opinion by Seth.
CONNECTED BOOKS BRAZEN is connected to the novella RECKLESS which occurs after the events in BRAZEN.

I barely got through the book, but I'm no quitter..Jasmine irritated me to now end. There was a lot not explained and some parts were just annoying.
Jasmine has come home determined to make the two men she loves fall in love with her. Upon her return, Seth and Zane are faced with having her around again even though they both swear she's off limits. Can they make a triad work and find their HEA?
First off, Jasmine is coming home from Paris..why was she there? While there she met a woman who was in a triad and decided that she could make this work at home..so she comes home with her grand plan never having a conversation with either guy about her feelings, what she wants..hell what they want..she proceeds to try to make them see her as a woman but keeps doing childish things because she young an inexperienced..hence my irritation.
Then the age and timing seems a little creepy..she came to them at 16, has been with them for 6 years..until she left for Paris where she stayed a year. That would put her around 21,22..Zane around 28, and Seth around 22...if they loved her before she left, she was mighty young..not illegal, but creepy..anywho, they finally figured it out after some time and work by all, but I have to say, I was happy the book ended.
It was a good read, but you have to have patience.
